Flowers Never Bend with the Rainfall ~ Simon and Garfunkel

The mirror on my wall
Casts an image dark and small, but
I'm not sure at all it's my reflection.
I'm blinded by the light
Of God and truth and right
And I wander in the night without direction.

So I'll continue to continue to pretend
My life will never end,
And flowers never bend
With the rainfall.

The Very Best of the Everly Brothers (1967)

Side 1:
Bye Bye Love
('Til) I Kissed You
Wake Up Little Suzy
Crying in the Rain
Walk Right Back
Cathy's Clown

Side 2:
Bird Dog
All I Have to do is Dream
Devoted to You
Lucille
So Sad (To Watch Good Love Go Bad)
Ebony Eyes

I picked this guy up used the other day. It is an excellent demonstration that used records can be found in very good condition. In particular, this disc looked as if it had been played maybe twice, and by a kind owner. Although the album was originally released in 1964, my copy was pressed in 1967.

These guys did a number of very good songs, some of them the kind of songs a person doesn't recognize from the title until one hears the tune, but others are quite recognizable from the title.

Notable songs include tracks 1-1, 1-3, 1-5, 2-2. "Bye Bye Love" has been covered so many times (a bit like "Big Yellow Taxi" in that respect...) but the original version is still gold. "Wake Up Little Suzy" is very interesting for a modern audience because it talks about a problem not many people seem to worry about these days. "Walk Right Back" and "All I Have to do is Dream" I recommend because of the groovy harmonies and catchy melodies.

If you like this album, this group, or if you liked a song on this ablum I didn't mention please leave comments!

...And We're on the Air!

Greetings Kats and Kittens, and welcome to my brand new blog all about my vinyl collection. I expect the posts will be shorter and more frequent than my homeblog Things I have Read, but this will be a great place to kick back and read about some of those classic tunes.

Alright! Catch you on the flip side fellow web surfers!
